ELLERBE — Montgomery County’s Most Wanted sits atop the Hot Mamas Softball League standings as teams head into a scheduled week off for Independence Day celebrations.
Most Wanted sports an unblemished 3-0 record, including convincing wins against Sandhills Alternative Learning (22-5) and Chix with Stix (18-2).
The Hot Mamas Softball League, led by Commissioner Max Gardner and Assistant Commissioner/Play Gay Garris Rhyne, is a recreational league geared towards women ages 35 and older. At least half the players on the field at any given time must be 35 or older. The league is open to players 21 and older.
After a week off, play resumes on Monday, July 7 at Parsons Field in Ellerbe. At 6 p.m., the DramaNots will play Chix with Stix. At 7 p.m., the Hot Mamas Angels take on Sandhills Alternative Learning on the lower field and the E-Lemon-ators play Where My Pitches At?! on the upper field.
At 8 p.m., the Orange Krushers take on the undefeated MoCo’s Most Wanted and at 9 p.m. SWAT faces Slap-a-Pitch.
Spectators are admitted free of charge. Concessions are available.
