Prettying up for Plaza Jam

Rockingham preps for free summer concert series

ROCKINGHAM — Opening night of the 2014 Plaza Jam series is only a few nights away. Workers with the city of Rockingham spent part of Monday afternoon making sure Cole Plaza, located on Rockingham Road between Leath Memorial Library and City Hall, would look as good as possible by making last-minute landscape additions.

Each concert is from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and is free to the public. The Tams are scheduled to perform May 1, followed by: Jim Quick and Coastline on June 5, The Sand Band on July 3, Too Much Sylvia on Aug. 7, Fantastic Shakers on Sept. 4 and the Craig Woolard Band on Oct. 2.

Plan your schedule now, and be sure to pack some cold water, a few snacks and bring a lawn chair or blanket to relax and enjoy the music and the crowd.
