Rockingham moves past Ellerbe, 51-14

ROCKINGHAM — The Rockets handled Ellerbe in both teams’ third-to-last regular season matchup on Thursday as Rockingham earned a 51-14 win in its home gymnasium.

Scoring was widely distributed for the Rockets, who move to 8-0 with the win. Bobby Terry led 11 players who contributed to the scoreboard tally with 11 points. Jahyae Stanback added seven points, while Cameron Caraway had six points.

RocketsChris Austin and Isiah Crowder added five points apiece for Rockingham. Antron Miller had four points while Jake Ranson and Josiah Gladden tacked on three points each. Rodrick Newton, Zrmodd Ellerbe and Damien Bruce each had two points in the win.

The Rockets travel on Monday to play, then plays their regular season finale on jan. 29 at home against Anson.

Playoffs are set for Feb. 2 and Feb. 5 with the championship contest on Feb. 9.
