Staff report

CHARLOTTE — Rockingham’s AC Rock U12 traveling soccer team placed second in its bracket on Aug. 16 and Aug. 17 in the team’s first tournament of the season.

AC Rock defeated both Charlotte teams it played but lost to a squad from Savannah, Ga. The team plays again Sept. 13 and Sept. 14 in the DSC Rock Hill Boys Classic in Rock Hill, S.C.

The team’s fundraiser and raffle was recently completed. Ruth Riviera won the $500 first-place prize and Ed Thrower won the $100 second-place prize.
