Douglas Wayne Taylor, Sr. “Big Wayne”, 75, of Ocean Isle Beach, N.C., formerly of Rockingham, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 1, 2015.
He was born May 26, 1939 in Richmond County, son of Jessie Taylor and Nettie Clara Sheppard.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Nanet McDonald Taylor of the home; children, Annette Morrison (Rockingham) Douglas Wayne Taylor II and Amanda (Ocean Isle) Kristina Taylor-Clemmons and Jesse (Ocean Isle) and Edward Conner (Ocean Isle); Grandchildren, Christopher Taylor (Ocean Isle) Trenton Morrison (Rockingham) Heather McNeill &Jamey (Denver, Colo.), Dakota Morrison (Rockingham) Kayla Taylor & Kody (Ocean Isle) Zackary Taylor (Ocean Isle) Isaac Taylor (Ocean Isle), Bentley Clemmons (Ocean Isle), and Kinsley Clemmons (Ocean Isle); Great-grandchild, Ryker Morrison (Rockingham); brother and sister, William Taylor, Sr. (Ocean Isle) and Martha Lovette (Hamlet); and a host of special friends & family, to him, at Minute Man, Seaside, N.C.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and a brother Robert “Bobby” Taylor.
A visitation is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, April at White Funeral & Cremation Service, 3660 Express Drive in Shallotte.
Visitation will also be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 4 at Mt. Carmel Free Will Baptist Church in Rockingham. The funeral will begin at 3 p.m. with Rev. Frank McQuage and Rev. Mike Childers officiating. Burial will be private.
