Obituary: Clinton Enoch Parker

Clinton Enoch Parker, 95, of Scotia Village, Laurinburg, N.C., formerly of Rockingham (10 years) and Westfield, N.C. (43 years) died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015 at his residence.

He was born May 10, 1919 in Lincoln County, N.C., son of Ernest Reid Parker and Cordie Elizabeth Wright.

flagMr. Parker was a member of Second Baptist Church of Hamlet, a former School Teacher in Stokes County School System, and a former veteran of 15th Air Force during WWII, in which he flew a B-24 Liberator; He was a member of the 780th Bomb Squadron.

Mr. Parker was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Clinton Wesley Parker; brothers, Hoyt, Reid and John Parker; and a sister Lois Graham.

He is survived by his wife, Esther Victoria Pegg Parker of the home; daughter, Karen Victoria Weatherly of Hamlet; son, David F. Parker of Westfield; brothers, Blaine Parker of Lexington, Kent., Stowe Parker of Gastonia, and Ray Parker of Lincolnton; sisters, Evelyn Leatherman of Lincolnton and Edna Boyles of Cherryville: two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Second Baptist Church of Hamlet on Saturday with the memorial service to begin at 11 a.m., with Rev. Chris Hawks officiating. Burial will be at a later date.

Harrington Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the Parker family.
