RALEIGH, N.C. — Mr. John Marshall Carpenter, 78, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014 at his home.
He was born July 23, 1936 in Anson County, N.C., a son of the late Marshall and Evelyn Campbell Carpenter.
Mr. Carpenter was a faithful member of Beverly Hills Baptist Church. He was the owner of Sandhills Pest Control for 35 years.
Mr. Carpenter is survived by his wife, Peggy Ussery Carpenter; three children, Marsha C. McNair (Gary) of Louisburg, Robin C. Taylor (Scott) of Wake Forest, and Chad Carpenter (Brenna) of Banner Elk; five grandchildren, Bethany M. White, Blake Taylor, McKenzie Taylor, Weston Carpenter, and Gavin Carpenter; two great-grandchildren, Harper White and Kennedy White; four sisters, Karan Reavis (Larry) of Winston-Salem, Sara Parnell (Bill) of New Orleans, Jean Massengill (Luther) of Selma, Catherine Sears (Larry) of Pinehurst; and a brother, Jerry Carpenter of Tucker, Ga.. Mr. Carpenter was preceded in death by three brothers, Keith Carpenter, Richard Carpenter, and L.A. Carpenter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28 at Beverly Hills Baptist Church with Rev. Mickey Briles officiating. Interment will follow at Richmond Memorial Park.
The family will have visitation to receive friends at 1 p.m. Friday prior to the service at the church.
