Mr. J.C. “Buster” Shepard, 79, of 113 Rogosin St., Rockingham, N.C., went to be with his Lord, Saturday, Nov. 22, at Sandhills Regional Medical Center in Hamlet while surrounded by his family.
He was born Oct. 9, 1935 in Richmond County, son of Jasper and Pearlie Johnson Shepard.
He served 22 years in the U.S. Army and served two tours in Vietnam. He also had worked at Alpha Plastics. He was an avid fisherman and loved to ride and visit! Mr. Shepard was a true gentleman, who had a lot of compassion for others, which he displayed in many ways.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Clark Shepard; brother Jasper Shepard’ Jr.; sister, Evelyn Louise Webster; and a baby daughter, Brenda Raye.
Survivors include his daughters, Barbara Ann Weatherford (John) and Glenda “Little Bit” Chavis (Keith “Pete”), all of Rockingham; son, Jack Kelvin Shepard of the home; grandson, Brian Keith Shepard (Brooke) of Rockingham; step-grandchildren, Lori Weatherford Brigman, of Rockingham, and John Matthew Weatherford, of Pinebluff; and a very special girl, to him and his late wife, Erica Nicole Collins, of Hamlet.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25 at Harrington Funeral Home.
The Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26 at Harrington Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Clark Family Cemetery.
