Obituary: Wilson James McDuffie

ROCKINGHAM, N.C. — Wilson James McDuffie, 86, of Rockingham, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014 at his home.

He was born Dec. 21, 1927 in Richmond County, a son of the late Wilson Silas and Margaret Parker McDuffie.

Mr. McDuffie retired from Avondale Mill and was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

Survived by his wife, Donna Poplin McDuffie of the home; children, Sandra Gail Luther (Randy) of Clemmons, N.C., Dean McDuffie of Peachland, Debbie Graham (Thomas) Gray Court, S.C., Jan Daniel (Randy) of Manchester, Ga., Cindy Monroe (Danny) of Hamlet, Sharon King (Eddie) of Rockingham, Jimmy Poplin (Loriann) of Rockingham and Cissy Smith (Eddie) of Laurinburg; sister, Donna K. Bowman of Rockingham; Brother, Walton McDuffie of North Port, Fla.; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Blackwell and Rev. Delane Burris officiating. Entombment will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1:30 p.m. Monday prior to the service at the church and at other times his home 1926 Baker St. Rockingham.
