HAMLET, N.C. — Mrs. Caroline Chavis Parrish, 81, of Hamlet passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Hospice Haven in Rockingham. She was born October 8, 1932, a daughter of the late Zack and Maggie Grooms Chavis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Parrish.
Caroline was a member of Church of God of Prophecy in Hamlet.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6 at Church of God of Prophecy in Hamlet with Rev. Steve Crews officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Watson – King Funeral Home in Hamlet.
Surviving are children, Ricky Parrish and wife Carolyn, Sue Dawkins, and Steve Parrish and wife Michelle, all of Rockingham; grandchildren, James Dawkins, Barry Parrish, Joe Parrish, Taylor Parrish, Brandon Long, Chad Taylor, and Matt Taylor; great grandchildren, Summer Dawkins, Kristen Dawkins, and Ashton Dawkins; a sister, Thelma Knight of Hamlet; brothers,Roman Chavis, Leavey Chavis, and James Thomas Chavis, all of Hamlet.She was preceded in death by brothers, Fairley Chavis, Hoover Chavis, Bud Chavis, Sterling Chavis, Walter Chavis, John Chavis, and Amos Chavis.
