The Allegany County Disc Golf Club is facilitating its first Youth Disc Golf League. League play will begin Monday, Sept. 5 in Cumberland and continue each Saturday afternoon through Oct. 1.
Start time for each week is 4 p.m. Players do not have to have previous disc golf (also called Frisbee golf) experience — and they don’t need their own equipment; the club has plenty of discs to loan out for league play. Coaches will be on hand to help players learn proper throwing techniques, playing formats, suggested equipment, and more.

Weeks 1 and 2 will be played at Central Assembly of God in Cumberland. The church is located at 2020 Bedford Street. Weeks 3, 4 and 5 will be played at Mile Lane Disc Golf Course in Mount Savage. The course is located approximately 1.5 miles from Mount Savage Middle School, at 14708 Mile Lane NW.
Players will learn and play both singles and doubles formats.
The announcement of the fall youth league comes after a successful summer for the club, founded in May 2022. The club recently completed its Summer Flex League from June through August, during which 31 players logged 124 complete rounds over six extended weekends of competition. The club also hosted two youth clinics in Frostburg, as well as a Par 2 Invitational in Cumberland in June.
