MOUNT SAVAGE — Frostburg resident David Warder led a field of eight competitors to win the third week of the Saturday Morning Tag League at Mile Lane Disc Golf Course in Mount Savage.

Warder, 31, finished with a 16 under par score of 59 — six strokes better than his win on May 28. Warder was consistent throughout the contest, finishing 8 under par on both the front 12 holes from the short tees and 8 under from the long tees. The 59 sets the 24-hole layout course record at Mile Lane. The original mark of 63 was set by course designer and owner Scott Mallery in Week 1 of Saturday Morning Tag League action.

Mallery, 53, of Mount Savage, tied his Week 1 effort and finished second overall on Saturday. Ethan Von Hagel, 19, of Cumberland, took third (65) while Derek Hunter, of Bedford, Pa., was fourth with a 69, five strokes off his Allegany County debut performance in Week 1. Nic Davies, 25, of Mount Savage, took another stroke off his personal best to tie Hunter for fourth place with a 69. Seth Wilson, 28, of Cresaptown, finished sixth (72) while B.J. Lewis (73), of Frostburg, and Sam Wolodkin (75), 19, of Frostburg, rounded out the field.

SMTL action continues July 9 and July 23. Before then, the Allegany County Disc Golf Club‘s Summer Flex League — free to every player — competes at Mile Lane Disc Golf Course later this month. Players must log into the uDisc app (two or more on a card) and complete the standard 18-hole layout between June 17 and June 20. It is important that as Mile Lane Disc Golf Course is on private property, permission to play a round must be received by calling 304-790-9987 or emailing smallery@wvaging.com.
