Disc golf ‘ace race’ set for Nov. 27

As of Nov. 4, only three spots remain in the inaugural “ace race” disc golf event, scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, at Mile Lane Disc Golf in Mount Savage.

Registration is $25 and all 10 entrants will receive an Uplink Gyropalooza disc by MVP.

Each player will throw 36 holes. The disc given out with registration will be used for the first 12 holes, then any other disc is permitted to be used for the final 24 holes. Each basket will be between 120 feet and 160 feet from the designated tee.

Event scoring goes like this: An ace is 3 points; hitting the basket is 1 point. A disc can bounce off another object — a tree, the ground, etc. — and if its any part of the metal on the basket, 1 point is awarded to the player.

The event winner receives a new bag and three discs. All 10 players will progress from one basket to the next; each player throws one shot per hole.

Mile Lane Disc Golf is located at 14708 Mile Lane in Mount Savage. The course is situated on private property.
