Police log: Deputies intercept FedEx package with pot worth $102K

District 1 of the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office coverage area includes the incorporated towns of Oak Ridge, Stokesdale and Summerfield, along with the unincorporated areas of Brown Summit, as well as certain neighborhoods outside the city limits of Greensboro. District 1, based in Summerfield, is led by Capt. Robert Elliott, who supervises a full staff which includes one lieutenant, five sergeants, four detectives, 19 patrol deputies, one canine handler and one office manager.

 

Deputies intercept FedEx package with pot worth $102K

GREENSBORO — Members of the Special Operations Division with the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office intercepted a package filled with about 4.5 pounds of high-grade marijuana worth more than $102,000.

The incident occurred at approximately 7 a.m. on March 30 at the FedEx Ship Center in the 6000 block of Old Oak Ridge Road in Greensboro.

An officer with the SOD said there were no arrests made in connection with the intercepted package. He said interceptions of suspect packages can happen by way of a tip received, an investigation leading to the package or by other enforcement methods.

Stokesdale woman facing drug charges

STOKESDALE — A 25-year-old Stokesdale woman is facing drug charges after Guilford County sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop at approximately 12:22 a.m. on March 27 in the 7700 block of N.C. 68 in Stokesdale

Kelsey Whitney, of Dahlia Lane, was cited with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana paraphernalia and driving while her licensed is revoked. Deputies seized $20 worth of drug-related equipment and $10 worth of marijuana.

Whitney was ordered to appear at a May 3 court date and released.

Kernersville woman alleged fraud victim

SUMMERFIELD — A Kernersville woman notified authorities she was the victim of fraud.

The alleged incident occurred at about 6 p.m. on March 27 when an unknown suspect obtained her credit card information during a transaction at the Exxon gas station, located at 4432 U.S. 220 North in Summerfield.

Oak Ridge man claims service man ripped him off

OAK RIDGE — A resident in the 7900 block of Grey Fox Road in Oak Ridge contacted deputies on March 31 after a known suspect allegedly abandoned the man’s property without finishing services already paid for.

Fraud: Man says suspect charged $620

SUMMERFIELD — A Summer Haven Drive man told deputies he was the victim of fraud when, on March 30, an unknown suspect allegedly cloned the victim’s debit card and used it at a Walmart shopping center in High Point.

The victim claims his card was fraudulently charged $620.54.

Greensboro woman accused of assault

A Greensboro woman is facing charges after an incident that allegedly took place on March 26.

Linda Mary Lorrain Terrizzi, of the 7600 block of Timberline Drive, was charged with simple assault, simple assault and battery or affray.

Terrizzi was also arrested on two warrants for failing to appear on a misdemeanor charge.

All suspects and subjects of postings herein are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law or administrative action and any and all crimes are alleged until a court or regulatory agency finds otherwise.
