1 hurt in motorcycle crash

Victim airlifted to Chapel Hill

ELLERBE — A Raleigh man was injured in a single vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon when his motorcycle ran off the roadway near Ellerbe.

Matthew Lee Warner, 20, was traveling along Green Lake Road at approximately 4:40 p.m. when his silver and black Honda 600 left the roadway. The cause of the crash was not immediately known.

Warner was transported by FirstHealth EMS to FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital, where a Carolinas Air Care helicopter took him to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill for additional medical treatment. Warner’s medical condition was not available.

Units from Ellerbe Volunteer Fire Department, Ellerbe Rescue, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina Highway Patrol responded to the scene. The Highway Patrol is investigating the traffic accident.
