Obituary: Curtis Wilson Roberts

Curtis Wilson Roberts, 72, of 349 Battley Dairy Road, Hamlet, N.C., died Saturday, June 13, 2015 at his residence.

He was born July 21, 1942, in Troy, the son of Vester Roberts and Dorothy Chavis Roberts Sessoms.

Mr. Roberts was a veteran of U.S. Army and a former electrician at Owen Illinois.

flagHe is survived by his wife, Joann Winebarger Roberts of the home; step-daughters, Teresa Hardee and husband Jesse, Laura Dick and husband Mike and Becky Barfield all of Hamlet; brother, Bobby Roberts and wife Betty of Hamlet; sisters, Betty Jean Goodwin and husband Ronnie of Rockingham, Linda Williams and husband Paul of Hamlet; grandchildren, TJ Hardee, Misty Crouch, Bryan Lee, Katlin Chavis, Sean McDonald, Jewel Melton and Michael Dick; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17 at Outreach for Jesus from with a funeral service to begin at 11 a.m. Pastor Marvin Taylor will be officiating and burial will follow at Eastside Cemetery, Rockingham.

Harrington Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the Roberts family.
