ELLERBE — Hailey Butler and Kyle Goodwin earned top honors as Ellerbe Middle School announced its top athletic awards for the year.
Butler earned Female Athlete of the Year and Goodwin earned Male Athlete of the Year. Butler was also named MVP in volleyball and softball while Goodwin also earned the Coaches’ Award in both golf and soccer.
Shane Chavis earned football’s MVP honors for seventh-graders and Armaad Horton was MVP among eighth-grade players.
In volleyball, Kaying Vang was named Most Improved.
In golf, Devon Tillman earned Most Improved honors while Brian White was named MVP in boys basketball and Jose Fonseca took home the Most Improved award.
In girls basketball, Michaela Turner garnered MVP honors and Kelsey Murray earned the title of Most Improved.
Nancy Avalos was named MVP in girls soccer while Kariah Ewing was identified as Most Improved.
Makayla Russell was named Most Improved in softball.
Starting pitcher Adam Webb earned baseball MVP honors while Brian White garnered Most Improved honors.
In cheerleading, Michaela Turner and Kerra Jenkins were named Most Improved while Monasia Kearns and Kelsey Murray won Spirit Awards.
Stefano Giles-Cerna and Jose Fonseca shared MVP honors in boys soccer. Jadeen McIver and Jackson Grooms were named Most Improved while Defensive Awards went to Ricardo Vega-Vasquez and James Melton.
Coaches Awards went to Goodwin, David Aguirre and Artemio Juarez.
