Summer art show seeks young adult artists

The Friends of the Leath Memorial Library group is getting ready for its next art show. This time members are seeking entries from Richmond County’s younger crowd.

For this show, artists should be between the ages of 16 and 22. To clarify, Artists should turn 16 sometime in 2015 or turn 23 in 2016 or beyond.

Two-dimensional works in all mediums, including photography, are eligible for the show.

Other rules include:

  1. All entries must be framed and have a wire on the back for hanging attached with eye screws Can use canvas substrate without frame, but must have wire with eye screws.
  2. Label each entry on the back and front with easily removable label with your name, address, telephone number, and/or email, title of entry, medium, and price. NFS if not for sale.
  3. Artist will be required to sign a waiver releasing the library and Richmond County of responsibility. Due care will be taken to monitor and protect the entries.
  4. Exhibitors will be expected to volunteer a time slot as monitor or arrange for a substitute.
  5. There is no limit on the number of entries by an individual artist. No entry fees or commissions charged.
  6. Brief biographies about the artist may be included with our entry

Artists should bring their work to the library in Rockingham between 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 8.

The show will run from June 15 through Aug. 28. Gallery hours will be 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. each Monday and noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday each week. A reception will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 15.
