PINEHURST — Chief of Police Earl L. Phipps would like to introduce Cameron Parent as the Village of Pinehurst’s newest police officer.

Parent was sworn in Thursday by Village Clerk Lauren Craig. Parent comes to the department after serving for over two years with the Aberdeen Police Department as a patrol officer.

Parent is a New Jersey native and an Army veteran. Parent was previously employed at the Pinehurst Resort as a security professional and is also a resident of Pinehurst. Parent’s father and mother, Glen and Barbara Parent, were on hand to witness the event and Glen actually pinned Cameron’s badge for him following his oath of office.
