High winds, t-storms likely tonight

RICHMOND COUNTY — The National Weather Service has issued a Hazard Weather Outlook for a portion of central North Carolina that includes Richmond County.

hazardousweatheroutlookMontgomery, Moore and Anson counties also a part of the 12-county outlook that forecasts widely scattered showers and thunderstorms this evening.

“Any storm that develops could briefly become severe, with a primary threat of damaging winds in addition to excessive amount of deadly cloud-to-ground lightning,” the outlook cautions.
