Patricia “Pat” Clemmons wowed the crowd in the women’s running long jump.
Athletes competed in the 100- and 200-meter sprints, the running long jump, broad jump, shot put and discus, as well as a 1,500-meter race walk, the football throw and a softball throw. The field day opened with a fun walk, four laps around the track.
The first day of the second and final week of the county Games begins at 9 a.m. Monday with a golf tournament at Cypress Creek Golfers’ Club in Laurinburg.
At 10 a.m., participants will take part in a Scrabble tournament at the East Rockingham Senior Center and a reception for the Silver Arts begins at 5:30 p.m. at Cole Auditorium in Hamlet.
