Obituary: Sandra ‘Dianne’ Snipes

Sandra “Dianne” Snipes, 65, of East Rockingham, N.C., died on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Hospice Haven in Rockingham while surrounded by her family.

She was born August 29, 1949 in Richmond County, daughter to the late Thaddeus “Little Red” Freeman and the late Laura Jane Simmons.

Dianne, along with her husband Boe, started Boe’s Florist 44 years ago. Boe and Dianne were married for 48 years. She was a member of Believer’s Outreach Ministry in Rockingham.

Dianne is survived by her husband Boe, of the home, and is adored and loved by all of her surviving children: Willie Snipes and wife Wendy; Ken Snipes and wife Lisa; Lance Snipes and wive Virginia; Eric Snipes and wife Lynn; Laura Clark and husband Brian, all of East Rockingham.

She was called “Ma” by her grandchildren Angel Kay Shankle and husband Robbie; Boe Snipes; Eric Snipes Jr.; Clint Snipes; Jeremy Clark and wife Kimberly; Joshua Clark, Amber Clark, Isaiah Clark, Millie Clark and Isaac Clark.

She loved her great-grandchildren, Robbie and Cayden Shankle.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Elisha Matthew Clark, and two sisters, Linda Jo Taksima and Kay Freeman Snipes.

She loved her caregivers as her own children; Wendy Chavis, Annie Tate and Alyssa Whitt. She was so blessed to have them.

Friends and family will meet from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday, April 17 at Rockingham Church of God of Prophecy, 139 Flowers St., Rockingham, in the Fellowship Hall.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 18 at Rockingham Church of God of Prophecy, 139 Flowers St., Rockingham, with Pastor Brian Clark, Pastor Tommy Weatherford and Pastor Lamel Stroman officiating.

Graveside will follow at Richmond Memorial Park.

Family will receive friends at the home of Lance Snipes, 166 Entwistle 3rd St., Rockingham, across from Boe’s Florist.
