Staff report
A 21-year-old Hamlet man was charged with breaking and entering a motor vehicle and misdemeanor larceny earlier today.
Daris Antonio Gillespie was apprehended by Hamlet police officers in Dobbins Heights. At the time of his arrest in Dobbins Heights, Gillespie allegedly had in his possession a phone stolen from the vehicle.
Gillespie was ordered held on a $5,000 secured bond and confined to the Richmond County Jail.
