Mrs. Ruth Helen Benton Millen, 72, of 105 Betty Brooks Blvd., Hamlet, N.C., died Sunday, March 29, 2015 at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital.

She was born in Albemarle, October 22, 1942, daughter of Rufus L. Benton and Helen Ruth Cox.

Mrs. Millen was a member of East Rockingham United Methodist Church and a homemaker. She loved cooking, spending time with her family and grandchildren and loved her church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Peggy Player; brothers, James, Furman, Mitchell and Gary Boone and Bruce Benton.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Norman Millen; daughter, Angela M. Smith (Henley) of Hamlet; sons, Lynn Millen (Deena) of High Point and Jeff Millen (Bobbie Jo) of Rockingham; brothers, Michael Boone (Kim) of Rockingham and Rex Boone of Rockingham; sisters, Lisa Hatcher (Bascom) of Hamlet and Sharon Mauldin (Tony) of Hamlet; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends, brother and sister-in-laws.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31 at Harrington Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. at East Rockingham United Methodist Church, Wednesday, April 1, with Rev. Pat Sykes officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Memorial Park.
