Obituary: Carol Stubbs

Carol Mills Stubbs, 70, of Hamlet, N.C., passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015 at FirstHealth MooreRegional Hospital in Pinehurst.

Carol was born May 9, 1944 in Montgomery County, a daughter of the late Zeb Vance and Lela Alma Young Mills.

obit_iconShe was a member of Joy Free Will Baptist Church where she was a member of the ladies group and the choir and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Stubbs.

Surviving are her children, Lois Harris (James) of Rockingham and Jamie Blake of Hamlet; grandchildren, Brooke James (Robert) and Brandon Harris (Laura); great grandchildren, Talan Jenks, Tristen James, Tyler James and Tori James; brother, Richard Mills of Cordova; sisters, Avis Bowman of Hoffman, Judy Shepard of Rockingham and Janet Lowery of Chattanooga, Tenn. and a special step grandchild, Rebecca Mikulka of Carthage.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Joy Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. June Grant officiating. Interment will follow in Eastside Cemetery.

The family will see friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Carter Funeral Home and at other times at the Harris home, 116 Woodland Rd., Rockingham.
