Grief camp set for April 22

Deadline to apply is Monday

ROCKINGHAM — Richmond County Hospice will stage its annual grief camp for children next month.

Camp Haven is a day camp scheduled to run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22. The camp is intended for children ages 5 to 12 years who have experienced grief and loss through death, divorce or separation.  Children will learn about grief and different ways to cope with their loss by participating in crafts, games and interaction with others at Camp Haven.

HospiceThe deadline for applications is Monday, March 23. Parents who are interested in their child attending the camp can request an application from their school (school counselors and school social workers) or parents can contact Sandy Black, bereavement coordinator at Richmond County Hospice, at 910-997-4464.

Persons who are interested in volunteering for the camp or for other Hospice-related opportunities are asked to call Lisa O’Neal, volunteer coordinator, at 910-997-4464.
