Felon held on $50K bond in alleged assault

Richmond County sheriff’s deputies took a Hamlet man into custody on Thursday on a single felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury.

Ishma Daron Graham, 36, of Rose Street, is alleged to have assault a female victim with a knife earlier Thursday morning. The victim was treated at a local hospital for a laceration.

Graham served eight months with the North Carolina Department of Corrections in a medium-security facility in 2002 after a conviction of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.

Graham was arrested Thursday and placed in the Richmond County Jail under a $50,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear on April 2 in Richmond County District Court.
