HAMLET — Richmond County Board of Education member Jerry Ethridge called the second night of the two-day Arts Alive! extravaganza at Cole Auditorium in Hamlet “supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.”

That probably means pretty good.

Members of the Cordova Show Choir, Richmond Senior High Show Choir, the All-County Middle School Chorus and the All-County Elementary Chorus took their turns on stage to perform before an audience of family members and school district officials at the 14th annual event.

Aaron Lafreniere, John Tyson and Dr. Dan Huff served as conductors for the evening. Huff is area head for music education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was the instructor when Lauren Lutz was a student at UNC-Chapel Hill.

Along with Lutz, of Rockingham Middle School, the county’s remaining music faculty members include: Wessley Futrell, Erin McNair, Melanie Cole, Jessica DesRochers-Mohlere, Phyllis Lupo, Kacey Matheson, Chad Osborne, Chuck Wright, John Tyson, Mike Ward, Curtis Swallow, Pam Ollis, Statha “LaLa” Osborne and Carly Fennell.
