TROY — Dr. Drew Bledsoe has been named as the next president of Montgomery Community College.
Claudia Bulthuis made the phone call Wednesday night to Bledsoe during an executive session meeting of the college’s Board of Trustees. According to the school’s Facebook page, board members “got to know the four candidates very well, but there were a few issues that still needed to be discussed.”
The board then went into the closed-door session “to discuss the qualifications, competence, and fitness of the candidates for the position of president of Montgomery Community College.”
During the private session, Bulthuis placed a call to Bledsoe to offer him the position as president. Bledsoe accepted the position.
Bledsoe currently services as executive vice president and vice president for academic affairs at Western Piedmont Community College in Morganton. He is a past president of the North Carolina Community College Instructional Administrators.
