HAMLET — The city of Hamlet on Friday was notified about temporary impending railroad crossing closures planned for track-bed repaving and maintenance by CSX personnel.
This maintenance is to better assist roadway and rail traffic in these locations. This notice is to inform motorists to use alternative routes within the city during the crossing closures.
Locations and tentative closure dates include:
* Hamlet Avenue, March 4 to March 14
* Raleigh Street, March 4 to March 14
* Lackey Street, March 13 to March 14
* Spear Street, March 13 to March 14
An alternate route for all locations is to use Highway 74 Business, Main Street and 74 Bypassl Oversized trucks — those over 13 feet in height — should use the 74 Bypass route.
