COLUMBIA, S.C. — Two members of the Richmond Raiders Marching Band participated in the University of South Carolina Honors Band Clinic earlier this month.
Angelis Hernandez, a senior, and Kyshon Ewing, a junior, joined hundreds of band students from several states including North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia were selected for this three-day event that consisted of clinics, master classes and performances by the USC ensembles.
During the three-day event, students rehearsed with Dr. Scott Stewart, director of wind studies at Emory University (1999-2013), and Dr. Eric M. Smedley, associate director of bands at Indiana University.
The clinic concluded with a concert that featured all participants. Angelis is planning on majoring in music at the University of North Carolina – Pembroke next year.
