The mutual aid call for help came at 3:10 p.m. Firefighters arrived on scene of the single-story structure with a light smoke coming from the roof.

The owner of the home said his wife had been cooking and suddenly there was a fire. She exited the home, and when he entered, he saw nothing, he said. The couple called 911 after they exited the home again and saw the smoke.

Anson County EMS also responded to the scene.
