Automatic weapons stolen from sheriff’s office vehicle

ROCKINGHAM — The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office has reported the theft of two automatic weapons that were allegedly stolen from the secured trunk of a sheriff’s office vehicle.

Crime_StoppersThe incident took place during the overnight hours Wednesday into Thursday. There were several other vehicles broken into along the street in Rockingham.

The Rockingham Police Department also received a report on Thursday of a white 1997 Ford F-150 truck with North Carolina tags CAR-5928 that was stolen during the night “from the next street over.”

Anyone with information on the suspects or the location of the weapons and/or truck are asked to contact the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office at 910-895-3232, the Rockingham Police Department at 910-895-2468 or Richmond County Crime Stoppers at 910-997-5454.
