The Cheraw Arts Commission presents William’s Adventure in Black History by Bright Start Touring Theatre for students on Tuesday, Feb. 24. Bright Star Touring Theatre, a national professional touring theatre company based in Asheville, NC, will perform their exciting production of William’s Adventure in Black History at the Theatre on the Green in Cheraw.
While studying for a difficult test, William’s history book comes alive, magically opening a door
to 400 years of Black History.This 45-minute production is fast-paced, funny and
informative. Young audiences will embark on an adventure through time, meeting famous
heroes and ground-breakers. Nearly twenty historical figures come alive in this production with audience interaction. William’s Adventure in Black History is best appreciated by audiences in
grades Pre-K through 5.
Each year, Bright Star Touring Theatre serves nearly 1,000 audiences in schools, theaters,
libraries, museums and more across the country. The company performs
regularly at the National Theatre in Washington D.C. and has gained international support,
accepting an invitation from the U.S. Embassy to visit Moscow, Russia with their programs.
There will be 2 performances of William’s Adventure in Black History at 9:15am & 10:30am.
Admission is $5.00 for students while adults who accompany students are admitted at no charge.
