Terry, Newton lift Rockets past Spring Hill

LAURINBURG — Rockingham moved to 7-0 after a 49-31 road win Wednesday at Spring Hill in boys middle school basketball action.

RocketsThe Rockets had three plays in double figures, including Bobby terry (15), Rodderick Newton (13) and Jahyae Stanback (11).

Isiah Crowder and Josiah Gladden chipped in with three points apiece.

Rockingham hosts Ellerbe on Thursday at 4 p.m., then the Rockets prepare for their final two regular season games on the road Jan. 26 at Hamlet and on Jan. 29 versus Anson.

Playoffs are set for Feb. 2 and Feb. 5 with the championship contest on Feb. 9.
