School delays and postponements

Staff report

Richmond Community College is the first to alter its Wednesday morning schedule due to the expected freezing rain.

Up to one-quarter of an inch of the slippery stuff could fall between late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning, making the early commute a potentially dangerous one. RCC announced shortly before 5 p.m. Tuesday that Wednesday morning classes would begin at 10 a.m.

* Northeastern Technical College, Cheraw (S.C.), will operate on a two-hour delay on Wednesday for students, faculty and staff.

* Second Baptist Day School, Hamlet, will operate on a two-hour delay.

* Chesterfield County (S.C.) School District will operate on a two-hour delay

* In addition, Richmond County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Wednesday for staff and students.

The high schools will administer EOCs and Common Exams on the delayed schedule, so please be sure your students attend school.

As a reminder to parents, breakfast will not be served due to the delay. Please be sure your children eat breakfast before they leave home.
