Authorities say Anthony Drake, 45, robbed the Fidelity Bank at 315 Albemarle Road shortly after 9 a.m. Tuesday. Drake is described as a black male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt last spotted exiting the bank traveling south on foot.

Drake is said to be armed and to be considered dangerous. He was identified was the lone suspect after investigators with the Troy Police Department reviewed security footage. The Montgomery Herald reported that authorities recovered a BB gun used in the robbery. Police allege that Drake modified the gun to look like a real weapon.

Anyone seeing a suspect matching this description is to call 911 immediately and by no circumstances is to confront him.

A heavy law enforcement presence is on the scene with K-9 units responding.

Drake is a lengthy criminal history. He served nine years, four months and 25 days in prison beginning Oct. 31, 2003 for the primary crime of being a habitual felon. He has misdemeanor convictions for larceny and shoplifting in Moore County — for which his probation was revoked and sentenced to one year and eight months.

He also was convicted of July 2, 2000 robbery — he served five years and 10 months for that felony — and also was convicted of multiple breaking and entering incidents.
