Elmyra “Myra” Covington Benoist, 66, of Rockingham, N.C., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015 at her home.
Myra was born Aug. 22, 1948 in Richmond County, the daughter of the late Bobby Covington and Buena Vista Rankin Coggin.
She had been employed for many years with Richmond Savings Banks and retired from the Richmond County Department of Social Services. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Tony Benoist.
Surviving are many cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Colonial Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Rev. Allison Farrah officiating.
The family will greet friends following the service.
