Lorraine Everett Bethea, 58, of the 2800 block of Matt Chase, Chesapeake, Va., was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 16, 2015.
Lorraine was born in Rockingham, N.C., to the late Sadie Louise Everett and Henry James Everett.
She attended Richmond County Public Schools System and Richmond Senior High School in Rockingham. She also attended North Carolina Central University (1975 to 1979) and later graduated from Winifred B. Baldwin School of Nursing on June 6, 1991.
Lorraine was a registered nurse with Diane Cavalho with 23 years of service. She was a member of Park Avenue Christian Church in East Orange, N.J. from 1990 to 1999 and was a member of Trinity Faith Diamond Baptist Church in Chesapeake where she served as the Fitness and Wellness Coordinator and was also the Physical Education Teacher.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Karl R. Bethea; three daughters, LaTonia S. Fowler, Nichelle L. Bethea, and Kharla L. Bethea Diggs; one stepdaughter, Chaz Y. Bethea; two sons, Karl R. Bethea, II and Lamar J. Bethea.
A wake service will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday at J. T. Fisher Funeral Services, 1248 N. George Washington Hwy., Chesapeake, Va.
A life celebration service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Trinity Faith Diamond Baptist Church, 1023 Deep Creek Blvd., Chesapeake with Bishop O. L. Cromwell officiating. The family has entrusted J. T. Fisher Funeral Services to handle the final care arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to “The Lorraine Bethea Donation Fund” at any Wells Fargo Bank. The funds will go toward “Celebrating Mom”, The Life, The Love, The Legacy Event which recognizes mothers and the legacy that they left behind.
