Man charged with selling counterfeit cocaine

Richmond County sheriff’s deputies on Dec. 18 arrested a Rockingham man for selling fake cocaine.

Police said Brandon Eric Evans, 25, was selling a white substance that was counterfeit and sold it as if it was cocaine. He was charged with possession with intent to sell and distribute a counterfeit controlled substance and selling/delivering a counterfeit controlled substance.

He was ordered confined in the Richmond County Jail on a $30,000 secured bond. His next scheduled appearance in Richmond County District Court is set for Jan. 8.
