ROCKINGHAM — Local attorney John Daniel received a gesture of goodwill Tuesday when representatives of an animal rescue group dropped by to say thanks.

Wheels4Paws founder Pat Webb and President Amy Jo Kuhnen said the new nonprofit organization was able to become a nonprofit smoothly in large part to Daniel. The group became a nonprofit officially on Nov. 4, 2014 — only four months after Daniel filed the paperwork on the group’s behalf.

“We brought him a little basket full of goodies to say thank you,” Kuhnen said. “He volunteered his time. He did that for free for us. There are nice attorneys.”

Kuhnen said it helped to have someone in the know pave the way through a sometimes complex, wieldy web of rules and regulations.

“It really helped to expedite everything, to have it done correctly,” Kuhnen said. “More than likely we would have messed up something in the process. We owe him a huge, huge thank you.”
