Teen killed in one-car crash

WAGRAM — A Laurel Hill teenager was killed Sunday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash near Wogram.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol indicated Coty Haywood was traveling south on Airbase Road. Police said Haywood ran off the road at about 5 p.m., left the roadway and struck a tree. First Sgt. J.D. Wilson said Haywood, a former Scotland High School student, died on impact. She was the only person in the vehicle.

Authorities have not determined the cause of the crash.
