Payne, Watson, Thompson honored at East Rock firemen’s banquet

EAST ROCKINGHAM — Three individuals among a band of brothers and sisters were recognized Saturday night during the East Rockingham Volunteer Fire Department‘s annual Christmas dinner and awards banquet.

Assistant Chief Bill Bayless presented the Fireman of the Year award to Bill Payne. Brenden Watson was awarded Junior Fireman of the Year and Woodie Thompson earned Officer of the Year distinction.

In addition, Nick Pait was recognized among junior firefighters with the most training hours (98) while John Quick was the junior leadership award.
