To the editor:
I was in Walmart just now and I was absentmindedly looking for the gift card someone gave us to pay for stocking stuffers for our son Jared. The man behind me pointed it out to me. I had dug it out of my pocket and laid it on the conveyer belt.
I told him thank you and he asked if everything was alright. I shared that we had a house fire and he proceeded to pay for my purchase. I hear about random acts of kindness all the time, but this was a first for me. I am deeply humbled and appreciative of all the support the community has shown our family, considering the gofundme page alone has funded more than our homeowner’s insurance has ($1,015 versus $800), not to mention all the donations of clothing, toiletries and cash from individuals and churches..
