Farm Fresh Ventures announces Christmas promotion

The multi-county, two state partnership of local agricultural producers that organized as Farm Fresh Ventures two years ago is celebrating another year of success.

Screen Shot 2014-12-02 at 1.31.15 PMIn its second year, the group successfully boxed and delivered 2,666 boxes of fresh local produce to 151 subscribers in the five-county region. Richmond County Farmers provided a large portion of the produce distributed through this program.

Farm Fresh Ventures Cooperative brings farmers in Anson, Chesterfield, Richmond, Stanly and Union counties together to sell their products through a weekly produce box subscription. The cooperative provides consumers with fresh, local produce at peak season while creating new marketing outlets for our area farmers.

Over the course of 18 weeks, a variety of 33 different items, all grown in the region, were delivered this past summer. In light of this success, positive feedback, and interest in future opportunities, the Board of Farm Fresh Ventures is planning now for next year’s growing season.

Just in time for the holidays, subscription orders are now being taken for 2015. Full Box subscriptions are available, enough to feed a family for a week. New this year, Farm Fresh Ventures is also offering Lite Boxes, geared for two person households.

In addition, as a Christmas promotional, Stocking Stuffers will be offered, a one week’s supply of either the Full Box or Lite Box. All Christmas purchases before Jan. 1, 2015 will waive membership fees, a $15 savings.

With your purchase, beginning May 5 in 2015, you will receive a box of fresh local produce, containing six to eight different items, from among what’s in season in our area. The program will run for 18 weeks through September 1. Boxes will be delivered to pick-up sites in each county on Tuesday afternoons.

Season subscription costs for 2015 for a Full Box is $432, 18 weeks at $24 per box, and for a Lite Box, $270 for 18 weeks at $15 per box. For a limited time during the holidays, you can also purchase Stocking Stuffers, a one week supply for $24 for a Full box, or $15 for a Lite Box. Stocking Stuffers must be redeemed by July 15, 2015, and require a two-week advance notice before pick-up.
