Dr. Alan Coulson, of Sandhills Regional Medical Center in Hamlet, has been included in the Consumer Research Council’s Guide to America’s Top Surgeons 2014 edition.

“It is very important to understand that in the world of surgery especially, no man is an island. No one does surgery alone and unaided”, Coulson maintains, “so in many ways this honor reflects the environment of superior care at Sandhills Medical Center and the Wound Care Center.   Without the support of Angela Peek, RN, Clinical Coordinator and her wound care staff and Amy Boyette, RN, Director Surgical Services and her surgery staff this simply would not have been possible.”

Coulson is board-certified in medicine, specifically hyperbaric medicine; and he has recently completed the five-year recertification milestone in his Thoracic Surgery Boards.

He is also a certified would care specialist.
