Benefit breakfast to aid Richie, born with heart defects

Proceeds from Jan. 10 event to benefit family of 6-month-old boy

ABERDEEN — Members of the Aberdeen Police Department are working to spread the word to help a son of one of their own by way of a benefit pancake breakfast.

Baby Richie, son of Rubi Rodriguez and Ricardo Palin, was born June 19, 2014 with congenital heart defects. Richie has endured several surgeries and will face more in the future. Proceeds from the flapjack breakfast will assist the family with related expenses.

The cost is $7 per person and will be staged from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10 at Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar, located at 1403 N. Sandhills Blvd. in Aberdeen.
