2 women robbed at gunpoint

* Update: Man arrested, held on $20,000 bond

Two women were robbed at gunpoint earlier today outside a gas station along U.S. Route 1 in Hoffman.

breaking_newsRichmond County sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene at approximately 5 p.m. and learned that the two women were accosted in the BP gas station parking lot.

Store manager Carla Bostick told The Pee Dee Post that neither the two woman, nor the assailant, entered the store and no shoppers or employees seemed to be at risk.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina Highway Patrol are handling the investigation.
