Washington Street School has promoted Drug Free and Bully Free Awareness for the month of October.
Debbie Butler, guidance counselor, met with classes to discuss the importance of positive decision making and peer relationships. Students from Richmond Senior High’s IDFY club visited the school and shared their reasons — personal, academic and athletic — for being drug free.
Teachers and students decorated bulletin boards for a friendly competition to encourage children to make choices that will enhance their lives and the lives of their peers. Brenda David with Alcohol and Drug Services, along with two of her colleagues, judged the bulletin boards and provided prizes for the winning classes.
