ROCKINGHAM — A five-man crew from the city of Rockingham helped put up bright red bows and garland on city light poles Friday in preparation for the holiday season.

J.B. Jeffery did the work in the air while Mark Godfrey drove the work truck and Bruce Quick, Ben Miles and Ken Everett provided on-the-ground assistance as needed.

Workers also changed the banners along East Washington and Franklin streets, as well as some side streets, from the Autumn look to the more Christmas-like “Season’s Greeting’s” banners.

City workers strung up the lights last weekend and, on Monday, plan to decorate Harrington Square. On Tuesday, workers will put up the Christmas tree at Cole Plaza.

The city will host its 12th annual City Christmas Tree-lighting ceremony at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 2.
